January started off cold, rumors of -30C kept most at home but the faithful needed to get out and ski. Off to lake Louis for a couple days of skiing. Clear skies over the lake inspired the faithful to get out and ski.

At the lake - looks nice!

but it was cold! bringing out the phone killed it within minutes... just enough time to get a few pics

After a nice cold day skiing out to the lake Brian is happy to be back at the car

Kind of looks like the North Pole - is that Santa's house?

more skiing, perhaps a little warmer in the trees?

More ski trips were planned and ski trips were canceled as Omicron swept across Alberta - Eva, the Giraffe and Teddy all managed to stay relatively healthy but Brian came down with covid. Not as bad as the flu but worse than a cold. A few days stuck in bed...

followed by a few more on the couch...

Only to be cured by the smell of homemade Pizza

After a few weeks of rest Brian was back on is feet on the rest of the gang was restless to get out of the house... A long weekend skiing in Radium Hot Springs was just what the doctor ordered!

End of January into February brought warmer temperatures - the snow started to melt but skiing in warm sunny days was still on tap

as were sunrise hikes up Prairie Mountain

and Brian even made an attempt at mixed Ice climbing - watch him go!
Climber, climbing ice...

Walking out with Rob

its sill winter in places

In other developments we acquired a dehydrator - thanks Brian's mom for the gift cards!

Eva is looking forward to preserving her garden - Brian is looking forward to Jerky!
1st batch Salmon Jerky!

Brian is himself becoming a farmer - a micro farmer that is...

Meanwhile Eva bakes yummy rhubarb cakes or are those pies???

And that's how it is on this February evening, singing off for now - 'the Giraffe'
